After studying many engineers, I have seen some who, after more than 10 years in the field, still have the same knowledge as they had after engineering school and others who have developed and become field leaders.

Math Skills

Every engineer should have a certain level of mathematics. I have friends who are civil or software engineers, and they think that mathematics is not important to them.

I know every successful engineer is good at mathematics, and they understand most of the complex mathematics theorems and calculations.

Knowing mathematics will also help you to think logically, and this will improve your problem-solving skills.


Most engineers are curious by nature, and they have a desire to learn how things work. This curiosity is the key to their innovation.

Engineers like to understand the building and design processes or the functionality of gadgets and vehicles.

Being curious can also make engineers inquisitive and prone to asking questions about their work.
